Surrounding maps; acquisition

Vicinity maps (UK50) are topographical (landscape-describing) maps that depict larger geographical or tourist regions. The maps can be purchased from local bookshops and online bookshops.

Vicinity maps are available for the whole of Bavaria and are published at a scale of 1:50,000.

As an extension to the topographical maps, they depict geographically contiguous regions or regions of tourist interest with additional leisure information:

• hiking and cycling trails signposted in the countryside
• Leisure and tourist information such as bathing facilities, campsites, places of interest and
• the UTM coordinate grid for GPS users
