BundID

With the BundID (formerly: Germany user account), you can apply for the desired Administrative service easily and securely. Your application will be sent directly to the responsible Government agency.

You can also use the BundID in the Hessen Mobil APP. Online applications can also be used on smartphones and tablets via the NFC interface and AusweisAPP2. The Hesse APP also contains further information and, like the AusweisAPP2, is available in the Android and Apple stores. The Hesse APP is a product of the State of Hesse.

To be able to use the BundID, you must first set up an account.

This works as follows

  • with the online ID function (via ID card, electronic residence permit or eID card for EU citizens) or
  • with an eIDAS-compliant eID medium from your EU home country (for Italy, for example, Carta di Identità elettronica) or
  • with an ELSTER certificate
  • with a user name and password

If you already have an account and would like to register, use the BundID registration form.
Further information can be found on the BundID website.

Information for users of the Hesse user account (often called "service account"):

  • The Hesse user account has expired and has been replaced by the BundID (formerly: Germany user account) in Hesse online applications.
  • The Hesse user account ("service account") is no longer available.
  • You should therefore register a BundID account as soon as possible, preferably with an online ID. Registration with an online ID fulfils the highest Trust level required for many online applications.
  • Your Hesse user account was not automatically converted into a BundID account, but was deleted without replacement on 30 June 2023.
  • The BundID is also being continuously developed with the participation of Hesse.

Information for users of the State of Hesse service portal:

  • Users are often confused about the terminology. Therefore a short information:
  • You can access the service portal of the State of Hesse here: https: //portal.serviceportal.hessen.de/irj/portal
  • The service portal is completely independent of the Hesse user account or the BundID (formerly: Germany user account) and has nothing to do with them.
  • The service portal enables employees of the State of Hesse to enter data and, for example, to submit travel expense claims.
  • Some employees can access the service portal via the NzüK portal.
  • For reasons of IT security and privacy policy, these employees must first pre-authenticate themselves on the NzüK portal in order to be able to log in to the State of Hesse service portal.
  • You can access the NzüK portal here: https: //nzk.hessen.de/
  • NzüK stands for cross-networkzone communication. Further information can be found here: https: //nzk.hessen.de/public/faq.html
