Doctor; notification of temporary and occasional provision of services
Doctors from EU/EEA countries or Switzerland who only wish to practice medicine in Bavaria temporarily and occasionally do not require a license to practice medicine. Written notification to the competent authority is sufficient.
Description
Anyone wishing to work as a doctor in Germany after studying human medicine generally requires a special professional license - a license to practice medicine or a professional permit. In Bavaria, these are issued by the government of Upper Bavaria and the government of Lower Franconia.
In the case of merely temporary and occasional medical activities (services), a license or permit is not required for nationals of EU/EEA states or Switzerland. For the provision of services, written notification of the intended activity to the competent authority (see under "Responsible for you") is sufficient, together with the submission of certain documents.
