Find out about the facilities in question and contact the management of the desired facility. Ask about the number of childcare places on offer and the main focus of the program.

Find out from your local authority how to register; there may be a central (online) registration procedure

• Certificate of the medical examination and of the medical vaccination consultation
• The competent body may require further documentation.

Contact the management of the daycare center you are interested in.

Ask about opening hours, meal times and the educational focus.

Clarify the exact registration procedure and the registration deadlines on site. Find out whether you can register your child for more than one facility.

You will receive a medical examination form from the facility you choose or its provider.

Have it completed by the examining doctor.
The medical certificate should confirm that you have no objections to your child attending the facility.

Before you are admitted to a facility, the provider will conclude a care contract with you. It contains legal agreements, for example on the

• daily care hours,
• care costs and
• notice periods.

The parental contributions or fees for childcare vary. They are set by the provider of the facility and can depend on

• the income of the parents,
• the number of children in a family and
• the duration of care.

For children from the 1st year of kindergarten until they start school, there is an entitlement to a parental contribution subsidy of 100 euros per month. The providers must reduce the fees by the amount of the subsidy.

With the income-dependent Bavarian crèche allowance, parents can be relieved of up to 100 euros per month in parental contributions from their child's first birthday if they actually pay them.
