You must apply to the relevant aviation authority for permission to operate searchlights and optical light signaling devices at a distance of less than 1.5 km from an airfield. In addition, you also require permission to operate searchlights or optical light signaling devices, in particular laser devices, which are capable of dazzling pilots during approach or departure, at a distance of more than 1.5 km from an airfield.

Permission may be granted at the discretion of the authorities if the requested use of airspace does not pose a risk to air traffic safety or public safety and order.
