Short-term care places; application for funding for the creation of short-term care places in fully inpatient care facilities

    The Free State of Bavaria promotes the provision of short-term care places in inpatient care facilities.

    Description

    Purpose

    The purpose of the funding is to grant the operators of these facilities a lump sum of a maximum of EUR 100 per unoccupied day up to a maximum of EUR 10,000 per year in order to cushion the special financial risks associated with the provision of these facilities.

    Object

    The purpose of the funding is to relieve providers of full inpatient care facilities of the particular financial risks associated with the provision of short-term care places and to remove obstacles to the creation of short-term care places.

    As part of project funding, a maximum of EUR 100 per unoccupied day up to a maximum of EUR 10,000 per place and year can be granted per project for the creation of new permanent short-term care places or the conversion of long-term care places into permanent short-term care places for a period of at least three years from the announcement of the grant notification.

    The grant amounts to a maximum of 90 percent of the facility's individual daily rate.

    The ancillary provisions for project funding (ANBestP) apply.

    Funding recipients

    Eligible applicants are providers of full inpatient care facilities that have a care contract in accordance with Sections 72 et seq. SGB XI and a remuneration agreement in accordance with § 85 SGB XI.

    Eligible costs are those incurred for the provision of short-term care within the maximum funding limits

    Type, amount and duration of the grant

    The grant is provided as shortfall funding as part of project funding. The approval period is three years. The grant per place amounts to a maximum of EUR 100 per unoccupied day and is capped at a maximum of EUR 10,000 per place and year, up to a maximum of 90% of the facility's individual daily rate.

    Required documents

    • Declaration of commitment to the creation of an appropriate number of short-term care places
    • Proof of the need for short-term care places in the corresponding administrative district or in the corresponding independent city.
    • Care contract pursuant to §§ 723 ff. SGB XI and remuneration agreement pursuant to § 85 SGB XI
    An appeal against the decision may be lodged with the locally competent administrative court within one month of its notification.

    Procedure

    The application must be submitted in writing to the Bavarian State Office for Care together with the required documents.

    The Bavarian State Office for Nursing examines and decides on the application.

    Deadlines

    There are no deadlines to be observed when submitting an application.

    Processing time

    The processing time depends on the number of applications received. A processing time of at least 3 months is to be expected.

    Notes (specifics)

    Grants are only approved for projects that have not yet been started. Therefore, no contracts (e.g. purchase contract, employment contract) may be concluded before the application procedure has been completed.
