Spatial observation; retrieval of data

The results of spatial observation are published in the state government's spatial planning report and in the "Data on spatial observation".

Tables, charts and maps from the following subject areas are available in the "Spatial observation data" (see "Further links"):

• Population (update, natural development,
  migration, age structure, forecast)
• Employment (employees subject to social insurance contributions, unemployment, commuters)
• Economy (gross domestic product, disposable income)
• Land use - land consumption
• Housing

When describing the spatial structure and its development, particular reference is made to the area categories of the Bavarian State Development Program (conurbation, rural area and area with special need for action) and to the 18 regions.

The data is updated on an ongoing basis. Older tables, graphics and maps will continue to be kept in the archive on a chapter-by-chapter basis.
