Host school relationship at a vocational school; application for approval

If a pupil does not wish to attend the Sprengel vocational school responsible for him/her but another vocational school, a guest school relationship must be applied for. In the absence of approval from one of the authorities involved, the government will decide.

The responsible Sprengel vocational school depends on the place of employment for students who are employed, and on the usual place of residence (actual place of residence) for students who are not employed. If the student wishes to attend a different vocational school, he/she must be able to provide important reasons for this (e.g. transport or social reasons).

The leaving vocational school is responsible for approving a guest school relationship if there is agreement with the receiving vocational school and the responsible school authorities regarding the establishment of the guest school relationship. In all other cases, the government responsible for the sending vocational school shall decide.

• The important reasons (e.g. unreasonable travel times, particular personal hardship) must be described and, if possible, supported by appropriate documentation.

A guest school relationship can only be approved in accordance with Article 43 Para. 5 BayEUG if there are important reasons.

The application must be submitted to the respective Sprengel vocational school (in case of doubt, the nearest vocational school).

The application form is available under "Forms" and can also be obtained from the Sprengel vocational school. The Sprengel vocational school forwards the application to the responsible authority (district or independent city). The host vocational school and its funding body are then involved. If all parties are in agreement, the Sprengel vocational school approves the application. If there is no mutual agreement, the application is submitted to the government, which is responsible for the Sprengel vocational school, for a decision.

Applications should be submitted to the Sprengel vocational school as soon as possible after the training contract has been signed.

The processing time depends on the volume of applications and can take several weeks, as many offices are involved.
