Municipal grammar schools, secondary schools and second-chance schools; application for a teaching staff subsidy

The Free State of Bavaria grants a subsidy for teaching staff at municipal grammar schools, secondary modern schools and second-chance schools whose employer is a municipal body.

For teaching staff at municipal grammar schools, secondary modern schools and second-chance schools (evening grammar school, evening secondary modern school) whose employer is a municipal body (e.g. municipality, district, county), the Free State of Bavaria grants the municipal school authorities a subsidy of 61% of the teaching staff costs. The calculation of the subsidy is based on the provisions of Art. 17 of the Bavarian School Financing Act (BaySchFG). The grant is approved for the respective financial year.

Grants are usually awarded by the Bavarian State Office for Schools with payments on account in February, May and August and a statement of account including final payment in November of the respective year.

As the benefits are granted ex officio without an application, there are no deadlines to be met.

As a rule, the personnel expenses provider receives a written notification by mid-November at the latest.
