Outpatient assisted living communities; application for funding for new outpatient assisted living communities

The Free State of Bavaria supports measures to establish and expand new outpatient assisted living communities for adults in need of care (start-up funding).

Purpose

Funding is provided for the purpose of promoting the establishment and expansion of new outpatient assisted living communities across as much of the country as possible.

Object

The purpose of the funding program is to promote the establishment and expansion of new assisted living communities. New outpatient assisted living communities within the meaning of the Care - WoLeRaF funding guideline are residential communities that are being initiated for the first time.

New outpatient assisted living communities for adults in need of care within the meaning of Art. 2 Para. 4 of the Care and Quality of Living Act (PfleWoqG) in Bavaria are eligible for funding.

Beneficiaries

Recipients of grants are initiators of outpatient assisted living communities within the meaning of Art. 2 Para. 4 PfleWoqG.

Eligible expenditure

Eligible expenditure incurred in setting up a new assisted living community:

• Personnel and material costs or fee costs for a moderator to set up the self-determination committee.
• Necessary expenses for external consulting services for coordination and organization
• Necessary expenses for public relations work
• Equipment for indoor common rooms and outdoor common areas that serve the special needs or protection of tenants

Type, amount and duration of the grant

• Start-up funding up to a maximum of 40,000 euros
• Up to a maximum of EUR 25,000 for personnel and material expenses, for external consulting services or public relations work and up to EUR 15,000 for necessary equipment
• The grant amounts to a maximum of 90 percent of the eligible expenditure for an approval period of 24 months.

  Project costing for the next 5 years

Prerequisites for funding: Submission of a balanced concept with a medium-term financing plan, the outpatient assisted living community and the following content:

• Objective and purpose of the project,
• Development prospects for the assisted living community,
• Ensuring the self-determination of the tenants,
• organization of services and consideration, in particular the active role of relatives or legal representatives,
• Compliance with the criteria based on the brochure "Self-determined living in assisted living communities" published by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention (see "Further links").

The application must be submitted in writing to the Bavarian State Office for Nursing (LfP). The LfP examines and decides on the application.

There are no deadlines to be observed when submitting an application.

Grants are only approved for projects that have not yet been started. Therefore, no contracts (e.g. purchase contract, employment contract) may be concluded before the application procedure has been completed.
