Cable car; application for funding

The Free State of Bavaria promotes the technical renewal and modernization of cable cars in small ski resorts, including ancillary facilities required for operation.

Purpose

The funding is intended to provide an incentive for investments in technical standards, comfort and the quality of cable cars and thus ensure the sustainable safeguarding of existing cable car facilities in Bavaria.

Object

Funding is provided for the technical renewal and modernization of cable cars, including ancillary facilities necessary for operation (e.g. functional buildings, ticket systems, entrance barriers, access area). Additional, directly related facilities are eligible for funding if they are important for winter or summer use and are related to the cable car facility.

Beneficiaries

Grants are awarded to municipal companies as well as micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Eligible costs

Eligible costs are those incurred for the acquisition or production of the assets included in the investment project. This means that only the expenditure directly associated with the investment is taken into account.

Type and amount

The grant is awarded as a non-repayable subsidy for project funding by way of proportional financing of the eligible expenditure. The funding rate is up to 35%.

Funding is possible if ...

• the investment amount is at least 300,000 euros and the subsidy is at least 100,000 euros.
• the investment requires a special effort on the part of the company. This means that the investment amount for one year must exceed the sum of the average depreciation earned in the last three years (excluding special depreciation) and the average profit of the last three years.
• the overall financing of the project is secured.
• the project enables year-round use of the cable car facilities and is geared towards both winter and summer tourism; a concept for year-round use must be submitted with the application.
• the project is expected to be completed within 36 months.
• the subsidized facilities remain with the grant recipient for at least twelve years after completion of the project for the intended use, unless they are replaced by facilities of equal or higher value.
• the funding does not qualify as aid within the meaning of Article 107 (1) TFEU or the admissibility of the funding under state aid law is ensured in some other way.
• the other eligibility criteria are met.

Application

Applications must be submitted using the application form provided on the website of the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism.

Approval

The governments are responsible for approval.

Applications must be submitted before the start of the project.
