Transport technologies and logistics concepts; application for funding

The Free State of Bavaria supports pilot projects and demonstration projects to accelerate the introduction of new transport technologies as well as innovative logistics concepts and individual measures to optimize (rail) freight transport.

Purpose

Traffic reports forecast a growing volume of traffic in all areas. In order to cope with the further increase in traffic, new transport technologies must be developed and introduced to make traffic more fluid and environmentally friendly. Cooperation between the road, rail, water and air modes of transport in the overall transport system must be improved, the transition between passenger and freight transport at the interfaces between these modes of transport must be optimized and regional rail freight transport must be promoted.

Object

Funding can be provided for the development of new transport technologies, the implementation of new projects and demonstration projects to accelerate the introduction of new transport technologies and innovative projects and pilot projects in regional rail freight transport. In addition, innovative drive technologies for rail vehicles and trucks as well as the development of new logistics concepts and individual measures to optimize freight transport can be funded.

Eligible costs

Direct project-related costs are eligible for funding. I.e. project-related purchases, personnel costs or costs for external services required as part of the project.

Type and amount

The funding is granted as a subsidy.

The regular funding rate is 50% in the form of pro rata funding.

There must be no premature commencement of measures, i.e. no contracts regarding the measures may yet have been concluded. Before submitting an application, contact should be made with the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport in order to clarify the specific requirements regarding the application.

Recipients of the grant can be private individuals, legal entities under private or public law and also public or private companies.

The written application must be submitted to the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport. Further implementation of the funding is regularly carried out by the responsible district government.

There are no costs.
