Freight village; application for funding

Municipalities and associations of municipalities can apply for funding for planning, conceptual design and infrastructural investments in freight villages.

Purpose

Due to the regional and supra-regional importance of GVZs, the establishment of GVZs is to be promoted by funding the expenses for planning and design.

Object

The federal and state governments have agreed to create a network of freight transport centers (GVZ) in order to achieve more environmentally friendly and efficient freight transport. In addition to the development costs, the local authorities must also bear the costs for planning and designing the GVZ and for the GVZ development companies (GVZ-E). The total expenditure for a GVZ exceeds the financial capacity of the municipalities.

Eligible costs

Funding can be provided, for example, for the preparation of a feasibility study or the costs of external planning services. However, infrastructural investments by municipalities and associations of municipalities for the construction of the freight village can also be funded.

Type and amount

The funding is granted in the form of pro rata financing/capital participation.
The type of funding is project funding.

The regular funding rate is 50% in the form of pro rata financing.

The prerequisite for the establishment of GVZs is municipal commitment. The funding only applies to municipalities and associations of municipalities. There must be no premature commencement of measures, i.e. no contracts regarding the measures may yet have been concluded. Before submitting an application, contact should be made with the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport in order to clarify the specific requirements.

Beneficiaries are municipalities and associations of municipalities.

The written application must be submitted to the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport. Further implementation of the funding is regularly carried out by the responsible district government.

Early start of measures: not possible

There are no fixed deadlines for this funding.
