Allowance for care and education or training; application

The previous childcare allowance has been replaced by the "allowance for childcare and education or training needs" of up to EUR 2,928.

This allowance is only deducted from income tax if the childcare needs have not already been exempted from tax through child benefit. The tax reduction is offset against the child benefit.

You do not need to submit an application. The tax office will check the requirements itself as part of the annual income tax assessment.
