Low emission zone; application for an exemption from the driving ban
In Bavaria, there are green environmental zones in the cities of Augsburg and Regensburg as well as an extended green environmental zone in Munich. The requirements for the granting of an exemption are regulated differently in the cities mentioned.
Description
The exemption permit must be applied for at the responsible cities with low emission zones (Munich, Augsburg and Regensburg) (see "Forms"). Under "Further links" you will find detailed information on the requirements and necessary documents when applying for an exemption.
The exemption permit is valid for a maximum of one year. An extension or reissue is possible under certain conditions.
The exemption permit is only valid for the low emission zone of the city in which it was applied for.
Violations of the environmental zone regulations are punishable by a fine of 100 euros (plus fees).
