Maintenance mark for measuring devices; application for use

Companies that repair measuring devices can obtain the right to mark these devices with a special symbol so that they can continue to be used until the next calibration.

The competent authority may, upon request, authorize companies that repair calibrated measuring instruments (repairers) to identify repaired measuring instruments by means of a mark (repairer mark) if they are equipped with the facilities required for repair and adjustment and with competent personnel.

The repairer must have the necessary equipment and competent personnel for the repair.

The granting of authorization in accordance with Section 54 of the Measurement and Verification Ordinance is an administrative act against which there is no appeal procedure in Bavaria.

You must submit the application to the responsible verification office. The application documents will be sent to you free of charge upon request.

The costs for granting the authorization vary depending on the number of authorized persons and the regional area of activity: EUR 128 to 256
