List of engineers authorized to submit building documents; application for registration

For an engineer to be authorized to submit building plans, he or she must be entered in the list of engineers authorized to submit building plans.

• Proof of entitlement to use the professional title of "engineer" as a member of a specialist field of civil engineering or certificate of graduation from a course of study in structural engineering.
• evidence of two years' experience in the design of buildings
• Certificate of good conduct

• Authorization to use the professional title "engineer" in accordance with the German Engineering Act (as a rule, completion of at least three years of study in a technical or scientific field is required) on the basis of a degree in civil engineering or proof of a professionally qualifying university degree in structural engineering (not identical to the field of architecture/structural engineering, but rather the preservation of the status quo of previously existing courses of study)
• Two years of practical experience in the field of building design planning

Registration in the list of engineers authorized to submit building plans must be applied for at the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers.

The registration committee at the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers examines and decides on entry in the list.

• for the authority: three months after receipt of the application and complete submission of the documents

• Members of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers: EUR 230.00
• Non-members: EUR 414.00
• In addition, there is an annual list management fee of between EUR 0 and EUR 67.00, depending on membership and type of membership.
