List of architects; application for registration

In Bavaria, the professional titles "architect", "interior architect" and "landscape architect" may only be used by those who are entered under this title in the list of architects at the Bavarian Chamber of Architects.

Anyone who may use the professional title of "architect" is also authorized to submit building plans; anyone who may use the professional title of "interior architect" is authorized to submit building plans for structural alterations to buildings associated with the professional task;

The registration committee at the Bavarian Chamber of Architects examines and decides on entry in the lists and directories. .

• degree certificate
• Evidence of the subsequent period of practice
• Certificate of good conduct
• Registration certificate
• Passport photo (optional, if you wish to have a professional card)
• Advance on fees (proof)

• Successful university degree in the field of architecture (four-year standard course of study) or interior or landscape architecture (three-year standard course of study in each case)
• subsequent two years of professional practice; in the field of architecture, professional practice must be supervised
• from the winter semester 2026/2027, according to Art. 4 para. 2 no. 2 letters b and c, interior and landscape architecture must be studied for eight semesters instead of six
  (see Art. 34 BauKAG in conjunction with Art. 4 para. 2 no. 2 letters b and c BauKaG)

• for the applicant: none
• for the authority: three months after receipt of the application and complete submission of the documents

• New entry in the list of architects: 300 euros
• Re-registration in the list of architects: 150 euros
