Non-state university; application for state recognition

State recognition determines the name, location, other branches and sponsors of the university as well as the recognized degree programs and the academic degrees to be awarded upon graduation.

State recognition can be granted if the university fulfills the institutional requirement to conduct studies, research and teaching at university level. This includes in particular that

The quality of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs offered is proven by accreditation in accordance with the Interstate Treaty on the Accreditation of Studies,

In the case of universities, at least three degree courses leading to a first professional qualification and, in the case of universities of applied sciences, at least three coexisting or consecutive and successfully accredited degree courses are available at the university or are planned as part of an expansion plan; in the case of art colleges, at least three accredited degree courses leading to a first professional qualification,

only those persons who meet the requirements for admission to a corresponding state higher education institution may take up studies,

4.

only university teachers who fulfill the recruitment requirements of Art. 57 and who have been selected in a transparent procedure in accordance with academic standards with the significant involvement of university teachers are employed,

5.

It is ensured that the institution fulfills its tasks within the framework of the state order guaranteed by the Basic Law and the Constitution.
