Tent camps; application for a permit for temporary construction

Anyone wishing to set up a camp for more than three tents for a short period (maximum two months) requires permission from the municipality.

If you want to set up a tent camp "on a greenfield site" for a maximum of two months, you do not need a building permit for the camp site itself, nor for the tents and the necessary ancillary facilities such as washing facilities, lighting or facilities for sewage and waste disposal.

However, if the tent camp is to include more than three tents, permission from the local authority is required for the construction of the tent camp site in accordance with the State Criminal and Ordinance Act.

Administrative court action

The municipalities may charge administrative costs for issuing the permit.
