Insured persons can find out from their health insurance company what prevention options are available. The health insurance companies provide quality-assured offers.

You can avoid or minimize the risk of becoming ill through your behaviour. The statutory health insurance funds offer services to help you do this.

For example

• with nutrition
• in questions of alcohol or tobacco consumption
• with exercise
• mental well-being
• issues relating to ageing
• general lifestyle issues

The health insurance funds also take into account the promotion of occupational health protection.

The health insurance fund can provide a behavioral prevention service if it is certified, i.e. quality-tested, by a health insurance fund or by a third party commissioned to perform this task on its behalf.

Some health insurance companies offer their own prevention courses. However, you can also choose a course from a quality-approved external provider. Ask your health insurance provider about the procedure.
