Telephone charges; applying for a discount from telecommunications companies

Persons who meet the requirements for exemption from the obligation to pay broadcasting fees or who receive benefits in accordance with the Federal Training Assistance Act are granted a discount on telephone charges by some telecommunications companies.

An additional discount on call charges is also granted to blind, deaf and speech-impaired persons who are entitled to social tariffs and whose communication is severely impaired due to their disability (degree of disability at least 90).

There are no costs for the application.

In individual cases, social welfare or war victims' welfare also covers the costs of setting up a telephone connection and the basic monthly charge for people in need of care and the elderly as part of care assistance and assistance for the elderly, provided that the financial requirements are met.
