Floor profile collection; exhibition

The soil profile collection of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (Marktredwitz office) contains around 100 typical or exemplary soil profiles from all over Bavaria. They represent the range of Bavarian soils and are particularly suitable for illustrating soil formation conditions, soil genesis and the ecological properties of soils to a lay audience. The variety of colors and substrates, which is often astonishing to the layman, makes these unique soils very aesthetically pleasing.

The collection is accessible at the Marktredwitz office of the Bavarian State Office for the Environment if you register in advance and make an appointment.
