Your local health authority can provide you with information on healthy lifestyles and living conditions.

It is possible to strengthen health with health promotion and prevention measures at any age. In addition to general information, there are various offers for individual target groups, for example for children and young people, as well as for health promotion in living environments such as kindergartens and schools. The local health authority provides information on these topics and offers in the region.

Numerous project reports from all administrative districts are presented in the Prevention Network of the Bavarian Center for Prevention and Health Promotion.

With the Prevention Master Plan, the state government is joining forces to increase health awareness, health promotion, prevention and early detection in Bavaria. Ten structural and ten specific health goals for the people of Bavaria ("10 + 10 goals") were formulated together with partners in prevention and health promotion and launched in October 2025. In addition to the prevention of the most common physical and mental illnesses, the goals also include the prevention of addiction, the prevention of infections and dealing with health risks caused by climate change. As part of the master plan, the "Gesund.Leben.Bayern" funding initiative of the State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention is coming to an end and will be incorporated into the new Bavarian Prevention Fund, which will be used to fund projects in the areas covered by the 10 health goals of the master plan.
