Motorized aircraft; application for an external take-off permit or external landing permit

External take-offs and landings are defined as take-offs and landings of aircraft

• outside the authorized airfields,
• outside the designated runways of an airfield,
• outside the operating hours of an aerodrome or
• within operating restrictions for an airfield

Outside take-offs and landings require permission from the aviation authority. The responsible aviation authority can issue these permits for take-offs and landings in Bavaria. There is no legal entitlement to the granting of permission.

Permission for an off-field landing is not required if the location of the landing cannot be determined in advance due to the characteristics of the respective aircraft (e.g. gliders or balloons) or if the landing is necessary for reasons of safety or to provide assistance in the event of danger to life or limb (e.g. rescue helicopters).

Permission can only be granted at our discretion if, in particular

• safe flight operations are guaranteed,
• dangers to the general public can be ruled out,
• adequate protection against aircraft noise is taken into account and
• careful treatment of nature and the landscape is ensured.

This public interest and the applicant's interest in carrying out the project (purpose of the flight) must be weighed against each other. Decisive factors include the intensity, the location and the date of the project.

Permission for take-offs and landings in Bavaria must be applied for at the relevant aviation authority.

Permit: 30.00 to 500.00 euros depending on administrative costs
