Small craft entrepreneur; application for entry in the register of the Chamber of Crafts

Chambers of skilled crafts represent the interests of the entire skilled crafts sector in a chamber district. They have the task of promoting the companies in the region and supporting their interests through self-administration.

If you are self-employed in a non-essential activity of a craft requiring a license, which quantitatively accounts for the majority of your commercial activity and is carried out in the form of a craft business, and have completed journeyman training in a craft requiring a license, the training content of which has prepared you for the activity carried out, you are a compulsory member of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

When you commence your commercial activity, you must apply for entry in the list of persons pursuant to Section 90 (3) and (4) HwO. The Chamber of Skilled Crafts in whose district your commercial establishment is located is responsible.

As soon as you belong to the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, you can use the offers and services of your Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

• Independent exercise of a non-essential activity of a craft requiring a license.
• In quantitative terms, this activity accounts for the majority of commercial activity and is carried out in the form of a craft business.
• The applicant has completed a journeyman's apprenticeship in a craft requiring a license, the content of which has prepared them for the activity carried out. Certain preparatory training measures that essentially correspond to completed journeyman's training are equivalent.
