Voluntary membership of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers; application for registration

Under certain conditions, engineers have the opportunity to become voluntary members of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers.

• Residence, establishment or predominant professional employment in Bavaria
  and
• either entry in the list of consulting engineers without being active in the construction industry
  or
• Engineer according to the Bavarian Engineering Act with activity in the construction industry, without being registered as a consulting engineer.

Registration in the list of voluntary members must be applied for at the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers.

Until 31.12.2024: EUR 70.00

From 01.01.2025: EUR 100.00

• The following documents are required:
  • Proof of residence (registration certificate or copy of identity card)
  • Proof of the registered office of the branch office or the place of predominant employment in Bavaria if the place of residence or business is not in Bavaria (e.g. by employer certificate)
  • Proof that the professional title "Ingenieur" or "Ingenieurin" may be used in accordance with the Engineering Act, by means of copies of degree certificate(s) / diploma(s), certificate(s) and diploma supplement including subject overview - for Master's degree courses: additional certificate/subject overview of Bachelor's degree course
  • for studies abroad additionally: notification of authorization to use the professional title of engineer
  • Non-executive employees / civil servants: current confirmation of employment from the employer / employer with details of the activity
  • Self-employed persons / executive employees:
    • Current proof of professional liability insurance
    • for commercial activity: copy of business registration
    • for executive employees: Proof of management position, power of attorney or power of attorney
