Firecracker test; application for a proof test

The Bavarian Proof House carries out both initial and repeat tests on firecrackers and guns.

Like firearms, firecrackers must also undergo a proof test before they can be used. The Proofing Act regulates the compulsory proofing of firecrackers. The safety test and subsequent marking of firecrackers is carried out by the firearms authorities. Unlike firearms, firecrackers must be retested every five years.

The testing of firecrackers is carried out at the Proof House or at approved shooting ranges. The delivery bill required for the test date can be obtained from the respective Proof House.

Firecrackers can only be delivered by prior appointment.

When requesting an appointment, you must at least provide information about the type of firecracker (e.g. hand-held, stationary, cannon, etc.), type of ignition, caliber and whether it is a larger, heavier firecracker (cannot be carried by one person).

The applicant must fill in the consignment bill for firecrackers (see under "Forms").
