Water register; request for inspection or information
If you require information on water rights, you can apply to inspect the water register or request information from the water register.
Description
The water register is an official register similar to the land register. It lists permits and authorizations granted as well as rights and powers, planning approval decisions and planning permits, water protection areas, risk areas and designated flood areas in accordance with Section 68 of the Federal Water Act (WHG).
Citizens can apply to inspect the water register, which is kept by the relevant district administrative authority.
Access can be granted by providing information, on-site inspection or in any other way. If a specific type of access to information is requested, the authority obliged to provide information shall comply with this request, unless it is appropriate for it to make the information accessible in another way. If the information is already available in another, easily accessible manner, the person making the request may be referred to this type of access to information.
