Renew company card

Is your company involved in the commercial transportation of goods or passengers and is your company card about to expire? Then you can apply for a follow-up card from the relevant office.

If the validity of your company card expires, you can

• as an entrepreneur or
• as an authorized representative or authorized person

apply for a follow-up card.

The company card is issued impersonally to your company and is valid for 5 years after personalization by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). You must apply for a new follow-up card in good time before the card expires. You can submit the application at the earliest 6 months before the expiration date.

As a business owner, you are responsible for the proper use of the card or cards. You must also ensure that the company card is entered into the tachograph at the beginning and end of vehicle use for your company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to your company.

  • verifiable documentation of the name, address and registered office of the company
  • Proof of identity of the entrepreneur or the person or persons authorized to represent the company in accordance with the law, articles of association or partnership agreement

• Your company uses vehicles that must be equipped with a digital tachograph.
• Your company already has a company card that needs to be renewed.
