List of authorized certifiers for fire protection; application for registration with the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers
If you have completed a degree in civil engineering or a course of study with a focus on fire protection, you can apply for entry in the list of authorized fire protection verifiers at the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers.
Description
For an engineer to be authorized to provide proof of fire protection, it is generally necessary for him to be entered in the list of persons authorized to provide proof of fire protection, unless he is authorized to submit building plans
The registration committee of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers checks the requirements and decides on the entry in the corresponding list.

Required documents
- The following documents are required:
- Official certificate of good conduct (not older than 3 months)
- Proof of successfully completed studies in civil engineering or
- Proof of a successfully completed course of study with a focus on fire protection or
- Proof of successfully completed training for offices from the third qualification level in the specialist career path of science and technology, with a focus on firefighting service
- Proof of at least two years of practical experience in the field of fire protection planning and construction of buildings or their testing (project list with at least three individual certificates) after completion of training
- Proof of achievement in a further training course at the Bavarian Academy of Engineering or another approved institution. The required knowledge in fire protection is imparted by a minimum of three days of continuing education with proof of achievement. (For graduates of the study of civil engineering or architecture).
Prerequisites
- Completion of a degree course in civil engineering or a degree course with a focus on fire protection at a German university or an equivalent degree course at a foreign university or completion of training for offices with entry into the third and fourth qualification level in the specialist career path of science and technology, with a focus on fire department.
- After completing the training, at least two years of practical work in the field of fire protection planning and construction of buildings or their testing and
- Proof of the required knowledge of fire protection

Procedure
You must submit the application and all necessary documents to the Registration Committee of the Bavarian Chamber of Engineers-Civil Engineering.
Deadlines
For the applicant: none
For the authority: three months after receipt of the application and complete submission of the documents. The deadline can be extended once by up to one month.
Processing time
As a rule, processing takes between 4 and 8 weeks.
Costs
- for members of the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers: EUR 230.00
- for non-members: EUR 414.00
- In addition, there is an annual list management fee of between EUR 0 and EUR 67.00, depending on membership and type of membership.
