Flight training; registration for theoretical and practical exams

The theoretical examination comprises the subjects of aviation law, human performance, meteorology, communication, the basics of flying, operating procedures, flight performance and flight planning, general aircraft knowledge and navigation. It is deemed to have been passed if 75% of the achievable points are achieved.

In the practical flight test, the applicant must demonstrate during a flight under the supervision of an examiner that he or she has acquired the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for the safe operation of the aircraft and can apply these correctly under normal and special conditions.

Practical examination

• Passed theoretical examination
• Completion of the practical training
• Recommendation for examination and registration by the flight school

Private pilots, glider pilots and balloon pilots must pass the practical test within two years of passing the theory test.

• Fee for checking the documents to be submitted when registering for training: EUR 120
• Theory test: approx. 65 - 130 EUR
• Practical examination: approx. 40 - 100 EUR (excluding flight costs)
