Procedure
The following information is helpful for an advertisement:
- Which plague is suspected or what symptoms occur?
- Species, number and location of animals
- Owners of the animals
- Have measures already been taken? If so, which ones?
- Were animals bought or sold?
In addition, you must immediately take all possible measures to prevent the spread of the disease, such as housing animals, separating "suspicious" animals from the others, making sure that no animals leave the site.
After notification, the suspicion is investigated by the competent authority. If it is indeed an animal disease, the necessary countermeasures (e.g. quarantine) are taken in individual cases.

Notes (specifics)
According to the Animal Health Act (TierGesG), compensation can be granted by the Tierseuchenkasse for losses in livestock caused by animal diseases. However, this is subject to the condition that the disease notification has been made immediately and that the number of kept farm animals (horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry) is reported to the Tierseuchenkasse at least annually and that the annual contribution has been paid.
