These can be: e.g. abandoned or disused disposal sites for municipal or commercial waste (old landfills) or disused plants and operating areas (old sites) where environmentally hazardous substances have been handled.
In order to know whether there is a suspected contaminated site or contaminated site on a property, information from the contaminated site register can be requested from the competent authority.
