The program promotes forestry projects in private and municipal forests.

Forestry projects in private and communal forests are funded as part of the forest development program.

The following is supported within this funding program:

• You are the owner of forest land in Lower Saxony or act as a recognized forestry association (FWZ).
• The measure applied for is provided for in the applicable funding guideline and is eligible for funding.
• The measure complies with the principles of proper forest management and the requirements of nature,environmental and soil protection.
• The measure has not yet begun (early start of measures only with approval).
• These are not compensatory,replacement or mandatory measures due to official requirements.
• Measure-specific requirements, e.g. regarding minimum areas, technical execution or organization, are complied with.
• The application is submitted in full and on time via the Forest Funding Program 2 (FFP2).

An objection can be lodged against a negative or onerous decision within the statutory period. If the authority does not remedy the objection, it is possible to file a complaint with the competent administrative court. There is no fictitious approval in the context of this funding; if a decision is not made, the application is not automatically considered approved.

Applications must be submitted online via the forestry funding program.

Costs are only incurred if approval is granted and are based on the cost statutes of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture: Fee 40,00 EUR (Information on cost composition can be found here)

Incorrect, incomplete or missing information may result in the rejection of the application and the reclaiming of any funding already paid out. Funding is subject to the availability of budget funds; there is no legal entitlement. Funded measures are subject to earmarking and can also be checked retrospectively. The approval authority must be informed immediately of any changes to the information provided in the application. Double funding of the same measure is not permitted.
