Every year, the State Statistical Office of Lower Saxony surveys all hospitals, preventive care and rehabilitation facilities in Lower Saxony.

Hospitals, preventive care and rehabilitation facilities are affected by reporting obligations.

A complaint can be filed against the assessment notice with the competent administrative court.

At the beginning of the survey, the hospitals, preventive care and rehabilitation facilities receive a letter with all the important information and the access data for the online questionnaire. The facilities then submit the required data via the online portal. The Lower Saxony State Office for Statistics checks the data received. If anything is unclear, LSN staff contact the facilities. If necessary, reports are corrected. If the data is not submitted to the State Statistical Office on time, reminders or reminders are sent.

The results are published in reports, tables and databases on the websites of the statistical offices. The results are accessible to everyone and can be used by citizens, researchers, politicians and the media.
