Households can voluntarily participate in the Current Economic Accounts (CEA) or the Income and Consumption Survey (ICS).

Households can voluntarily participate in the Current Economic Accounts (CEA) or the Income and Expenditure Survey (EVS). In doing so, you provide information about your income situation, consumer spending, financial circumstances and consumer durables. The EVS survey is carried out every five years. The LWR survey is conducted annually between two EVS. They provide important information for politics, science and administration - in particular on the use of income, expenditure structure, wealth situation and living conditions of the population. Households receive a cash reward as a thank you. Participation is possible via an app or a paper questionnaire.

First, the household fills out a declaration of participation. The selection is then made by the State Statistical Office of Lower Saxony (LSN). After selection, the household receives either access data for digital participation or paper documents by post.

Participation can take place conveniently via an app or using a paper questionnaire. The data is collected over a period of one month as part of the Current Economic Accounts (LWR) or currently over three months as part of the Income and Consumption Survey (EVS). Once the survey has been completed, the LSN checks the transmitted data for plausibility. The final evaluation is carried out by the Federal Statistical Office.
