Mobile-ICT-Karte beantragen

If you already have an ICT card from another EU country and are temporarily transferred to a branch in Germany, you can apply for a mobile ICT card.

The mobile ICT card is a special residence permit that you can apply for as a manager, specialist or trainee if you already have an ICT card from another EU country.

The mobile ICT card allows you to work in your company's German branch for a certain period of time.

• You will be working in the German branch as a manager, specialist or trainee.

• You already hold an ICT card from another EU country for the purpose of an intra-company transfer.

• You have been with the company for at least 6 months without interruption immediately prior to the intra-company transfer.

• You continue to belong to the company for the duration of the transfer.

• The transfer lasts longer than 90 days.

• The transfer lasts a maximum of 3 years. If you are a trainee, a maximum of 1 year.

• There is no interest in deporting you.

• You apply for the mobile ICT card at the responsible office in writing or electronically with all the necessary documents.

• The competent authority will check your application and request further documents from you if necessary.

• If necessary, other authorities and bodies will be involved.

• The competent body will decide on your application.

• If your application is approved, your fingerprints, signature and a biometric photo will be taken to produce the electronic residence permit (eAT).

• The competent authority commissions an external agency, the Bundesdruckerei, to produce your eAT.

• As soon as the eAT is ready, you will receive a notification and can collect the card in person from the responsible office. You will be given an appointment for this by the responsible office.

• If the application is rejected, you will receive a rejection notice with the reasons for the rejection.

"ICT" stands for "Intra-Corporate Transfer", i.e. a transfer within the company.
