Description
For the supply of certain chemicals, for example in wholesale and retail, a certificate of competence is required in accordance with the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance.
There are different types of expertise:
- comprehensive expertise
- limited expertise without biocidal products or plant protection products
- limited expertise for biocidal products or plant protection products
- limited substance-specific expertise
The certificate of competence can be acquired by passing an examination.
The examination can be conducted either by the competent authority or by a recognized examination institution.

The State Trade Supervisory Office Göttingen (GAA Göttingen) is the competent authority for the acceptance of the examination of expertise and recognition of facilities for carrying out tests in accordance with Section 11 (1) No. 1 of the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance (ChemVerbotsV).

The examination of expertise can be carried out either by the competent authority or by a recognized examination institution. The examination is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the announcement on the certificate of competence in accordance with the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance and the "Joint list of questions of the federal states for the examination of competence in accordance with the Chemicals Prohibition Ordinance".
