The certificate also shows that no professional or disciplinary measures have been taken or initiated against you.

• Your last professional activity must have been carried out in the federal state in which the application is submitted.
• The professional activity must correspond to an academic or non-academic healthcare profession.
• Official certification and translation of documents into German, if applicable.
• If copies are submitted, they must be officially certified. For copies without official certification, the originals must be submitted at the same time.
• Foreign-language documents require an official German translation by sworn interpreters in Germany.

If you wish to lodge an appeal against the decision, the appeal period of one month after notification of the decision must be observed.

You submit an application for a clearance certificate to the competent authority.

The competent authority will then check whether your training corresponds to the German training and whether all other requirements for issuing the clearance certificate have been met.

The processing time varies depending on the case.

There are also fees for the respective expert opinion. These are between €150-300 depending on the work involved.
