Applying for grants to promote aquaculture

The state of Lower Saxony grants funding to aquaculture companies from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and from the state of Lower Saxony.

The state of Lower Saxony provides funding to aquaculture companies from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and from the state of Lower Saxony to promote economically, socially and ecologically sustainable, competitive and knowledge-based aquaculture.

Funding is only granted for projects that are in line with the German program for the EMFAF 2021-2027.

• Investments in the new construction or modernization of production capacities

• Investments in the environmental sustainability of aquaculture facilities and to improve resource efficiency

• The fisheries or aquaculture company that is the recipient of the grant or a participating partner must be based in Lower Saxony. The investments must take place in Lower Saxony.
• The eligible expenditure must amount to at least 5000 euros.
• Grant recipients must fulfill the characteristics of an SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) within the meaning of Recommendation 2003/361/EC.
• The grant recipient or the person entrusted with the management of the business during the period of earmarking must provide evidence of having passed the final examination for the profession of fish farmer as defined in Section 34 or Section 40 (2) BBiG.

Lawsuit

• You apply for funding for aquaculture by submitting all relevant documents to the LWK.
• The LWK forwards the application with a statement to the LAVES for processing.
• The granting authority decides whether your application is approved and issues a grant notification.
• Proof of use must be submitted after or during the implementation of the project.
• The proof of use is checked and the grant to be awarded is then determined by means of a notification.
• You now apply for payment of the grant.
