Notify the appointment, change of duties or dismissal of a radiation protection officer

If you are responsible for radiation protection, you must inform the authority about the appointment and dismissal of radiation protection officers. The same applies if the scope of duties or the powers of the appointed radiation protection officer change.

If, as the person responsible for radiation protection, you appoint a radiation protection officer, you must inform the competent authority immediately.

The notification must be accompanied by evidence of the required expertise of the appointed radiation protection officer. The notification must also specify the duties and powers of the radiation protection officer as well as the information on the internal decision-making area.

If the duties or powers of the appointed radiation protection officer change or if the appointed radiation protection officer resigns and you appoint a new radiation protection officer, you must also inform the competent authority of this.

• Only persons may be appointed as radiation protection officers for whom there are no facts from which doubts arise as to their reliability and who have the necessary expertise in radiation protection.
