Promotion of cultural cooperation between Lower Saxony and other countries

You can apply to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) for funding for cultural projects with the aim of promoting exchange between Lower Saxony and other countries.

You can apply for funding for a cultural project as an institution or artist in the fields of visual arts, music, literature, socioculture and performing arts from Lower Saxony. The aim of the project must be to establish and deepen cultural contacts between Lower Saxony and other countries. Once the funding application has been submitted online and in paper form to the approval authority (MWK), it is first checked for formal requirements. An interdepartmental expert opinion is then drawn up. The expert opinion contains a vote on whether the application should be funded or rejected. The procedure is continued or concluded with an approval or rejection notice. After completion of the project, the appropriate use of funds must be proven to the approval authority (MWK).

• You must have your (residential) headquarters or a branch in Lower Saxony.

• Read the funding guidelines on the granting of subsidies for the promotion of cultural cooperation between Lower Saxony and abroad and the information on the application >Cultural Cooperation<
• Then register in the online application procedure
• Complete all mandatory fields in the online system
• Complete all mandatory fields on the application form
• Submit all mandatory declarations and upload all mandatory documents (incl. application form)
• First submit your application online and then print out the application form
• Sign the printed application form and send it without attachments to the approval authority (MWK)
• As soon as the application deadline has passed, the submitted applications will be checked for formal and technical requirements
• This is followed by an approval or rejection notice
• In the case of an approval decision, the applicant receives the state funds after the corresponding call for funds.
• After completion of the project, proof of use must be provided.
• In the case of a rejection notice, the procedure is completed when the deadline for lodging an appeal expires
