You can apply for the recognition of workshops to carry out tests on tachographs and recording equipment here.

Approval is granted only after inspection by the workshop. The appointment for the inspection of the workshop is agreed when the authority has received all the necessary documents.

Your local guild of the motor vehicle trade is responsible.

• Certificate from the locally competent Chamber of Crafts (informal or copy of the craft card)

on the entry of the business in the Register of Craftsmen or, in the case of a specialist company which is not entered in the Register of Craftsmen, an extract from the commercial register showing that a motor vehicle repair shop is maintained

• certificate issued by the locally competent Chamber of Crafts,

that the applicant and/or the responsible specialists fulfil the conditions laid down in the Crafts Code for the independent commercial performance of such work as is necessary to remedy the deficiencies found in the performance of tachograph and recording equipment tests

• Qualification certificates and a curriculum vitae in tabular form about the professional career

In order to prove the previous training of the specialists responsible for carrying out the tests of tachographs and recording equipment, the qualification certificates (e.g. copy of the master craftsman's certificate) and a curriculum vitae in tabular form on the professional career must be submitted.

• Certificate of successfully completed initial and, if applicable, repeat training

As proof of the certificate of the training in accordance with point 2.5 of Annex XVIIId StVZO, copies of the certificate of successfully completed initial and, if applicable, retraining must be submitted to the applicant and/or the responsible specialists.

In Lower Saxony, preliminary proceedings are not provided for by § 80 Nds. Therefore, no objection is admissible. Rather, an action must be brought directly before the administrative courts.

When submitting the application, the required documents (see point "Required documents") must be submitted. In the second step, the equipment and structural conditions in the workshop are checked on site in accordance with Annex XVIII b of the StVZO.

There are no special deadlines for submitting applications.
