A person who has passed another journeyman's examination or another final examination in a recognised training occupation and has worked for several years in the craft subject to authorisation in which he wishes to take the master craftsman's examination shall also be admitted to the master craftsman's examination. A maximum of three years' previous professional activity may be required. The following shall be taken into account for the period of employment:
- the successful completion of a technical school
- in the case of one-year technical colleges with one year,
- in the case of multi-year technical colleges with two years,
- activity as a self-employed person, as a foreman or in a similar position in the craft subject to approval in which the master craftsman's examination is to be taken,
- a practical activity equivalent to journeymanship in the craft subject to approval in which the master craftsman's examination is to be taken.
In exceptional cases and with proof of foreign educational qualifications and periods of professional activity abroad, the applicant may be exempted from the above-mentioned requirements in whole or in part.
For admission to the master craftsman's examination in crafts without admission, a journeyman's or final examination degree is sufficient. Part III of the master craftsman's examination can also be taken before a journeyman's degree.
Admission is granted by the chairman of the master craftsman's examination committee. If the Chairman does not consider the admission requirements to be met, the Examination Board shall decide.
