Determine eligibility for election to the district council

If you want to stand for election, you must prove that you are eligible when submitting your nomination.

If you are running as a candidate for election to the district council of a district, you must prove that you are eligible when submitting your nomination.

Information from the population register or the certificate of eligibility in accordance with Annex 11 or Annex 11a to Section 25 (6) Nos. 2 or 2a of the Municipal Elections Regulations (KWO)

You are eligible for election as a person entitled to vote who has reached the age of 18 on the day of the election.

You are not eligible,
1. if you do not have the right to vote as a result of a court ruling,
2. if, as a result of a court ruling, you do not have the eligibility or the ability to hold public office,
3. if you are not eligible under the law of the Member State of the European Union of which you are a citizen as a result of an individual civil law decision or a criminal law decision.

The certificate of eligibility or the population register information is issued by the responsible municipal administration.
