Apply for a parking permit for severely disabled people

Do you live in Rhineland-Palatinate and need a parking permit for severely disabled people?

Severely disabled people with an exceptional walking disability (mark "aG"), with bilateral amelia or phocomelia or with comparable functional impairments as well as blind people (mark "Bl") can apply for a blue EU parking permit.

Special groups of severely disabled people can apply for a yellow or orange parking permit. The yellow parking permit is valid in Rhineland-Palatinate, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. The orange parking permit isvalid throughout the Federal Republic of Germany.

Please contact the road traffic authority responsible for your place of residence at the local council administration, the administration of the independent municipality/city or, in independent and large cities, the city administration.

• a current photograph when applying for the blue EU parking permit

Blue EU parking permit:
You can usually take the parking permit with you straight away.

Yellow and orange parking permits:
Slight time delay because the utility administration is asked for information as part of administrative assistance as to whether the applicant belongs to the authorized group of people.

The issue of a parking permit for people with disabilities is generally free of charge.

In addition to the general parking concessions associated with the issue of the parking permit, it should be noted that the use of designated parking spaces for severely disabled people is only permitted by law with the Blue EU Parking Permit.
