Correcting the electoral roll for the European elections

Anyone who considers the electoral roll for the European elections to be incorrect or incomplete may lodge an objection and have the error corrected within the period for inspecting the electoral roll.

If the electoral roll for the European elections contains incorrect information or is incomplete, you can have this corrected. Within the inspection period for the electoral roll from the 20th to the 16th day before the election, a correction is possible by lodging an objection with the municipal authority in due form and time. An appeal against the decision of the municipal authority may be lodged within two days of notification of the decision.

If the electoral roll is obviously incorrect or incomplete, the municipal authority may also correct the error ex officio.

The electoral roll must be completed by the municipal authority no later than the day before the election, but no earlier than the third day before the election.

You can have the electoral roll for the European elections corrected as follows:

• If you discover that the electoral roll is incorrect or incomplete when you inspect it, you can lodge an objection with the municipal authority to have the electoral roll corrected. You must lodge your objection in writing or for the record with the municipal authority by the end of the objection period (16th day before the election) at the latest.
• If the alleged facts are not obvious, you must provide the necessary evidence.
• If the electoral roll is incorrect or incomplete, the municipal authority will correct the electoral roll. If you are subsequently entered in the electoral roll, you will receive an election notification.
• If the electoral roll is correct and complete, a rejection notice will be issued.
• The municipal authority must deliver its decision at the latest on the 10th day before the election and point out the admissible legal remedy.

An appeal against the decision of the municipal authority may be lodged within two days of notification.

The objection must be submitted within the inspection period for the electoral roll (from the 20th to the 16th day before the election).
