Register for a higher vocational school

You have completed your certificate of secondary school leaving certificate and would like to start an assistant training in a field of your choice? Perhaps you would like to qualify twice and acquire the Fachhochschulreife at the same time?

Within two years, the higher vocational school provides full-time, qualified vocational training, which leads to a qualification as a state-certified assistant. In addition, there is the possibility, in conjunction with an additional internship, to achieve the Fachhochschulreife and thus to qualify twice.

You can choose from the following disciplines (your future job title in brackets):

• Nutrition and supply: (State-certified assistant for nutrition and supply)
• Gastronomy: (State-certified gastronomic assistant
• Information Technology:(State-certified information technology assistant)
• Laboratory equipment:
  • a) Focus on biology (state-certified biological-technical assistant)
  • b) Focus on chemistry (state-certified chemical-technical assistant)
  • c) Focus on environmental protection (state-certified environmental protection assistant)
• Mechatronics (state-certified automation assistant)
• Media Design (State-certified design assistant)
• Apparel Technology and Fashion Design (State-certified apparel assistant)
• Social assistance (state-certified social assistant)
• Economics (State-certified commercial assistant)
• Police Service and Administration (State-certified assistant for police service and administration)

• Half-year report of the 10th school year or the Berufsfachschule II for registration
• Certificate of qualified lower secondary school leaving certificate (Mittlere Reife) or a certificate recognised as equivalent as soon as itis available.

Anyone who has a qualified lower secondary school leaving certificate or a qualification recognised as equivalent can be admitted to the higher vocational school.

Registration takes place directly at the vocational school of your choice by 1 March each year. Registration forms are available for download from the secretary's office or from the school's website.

Your registration should take place after the half-year reports have been issued, preferably before 1 March of each year. A later registration is possible if the school still has free places.

Attendance at higher vocational schools at public vocational schools is free of charge. When attending a private higher vocational school, tuition fees and fees may apply. You can find out directly at the school in question.
