Register vocational preparation year

You are still required to attend school, without a vocational school leaving certificate ("Hauptschulabschluss") and have not yet found a training place or job? Then register with the responsible vocational school for a vocational preparation year!

If you are still required to attend school and do not have a vocational leaving certificate ("Hauptschulabschluss") and also no job or training place, then you can register for a vocational preparation year at the vocational school responsible for you.

The responsible vocational school can be found on the Education Server Rhineland-Palatinate.

Alternatively, you can also contact the Employment Agency to find out about the possibilities of your professional career.

Please contact the vocational school responsible for you. There you will find further information on the vocational preparation year (BVJ) and the registration procedure.

In order to register at the responsible vocational school, the half-year report of the last school attended must usually be submitted and, as soon as it is available, the leaving certificate or leaving certificate.

Further information on any required documents (e.g. CV, passport photo) can be obtained from your vocational school.

School-specific

The prerequisite for admission to the vocational preparation year is at least nine years of schooling and

• a leaving certificate from Realschule plus, an integrated comprehensive school or a grammar school or
• a school leaving certificate with a focus on learning or
• an equivalent degree

You can obtain initial advice on the vocational preparation year from the employment agency responsible for you. They can also recommend the responsible vocational school, which you can also contact for further information on the vocational preparation year and the registration procedure.

When registering at the vocational school responsible for you, you must indicate, among other things: enter your personal details, which are important for everyday school life, and fill out the school-specific forms.

In order for a school to be able to set up a sufficient number of classes at an early stage, registration should be made after the half-year reports have been issued, preferably before 1.3. of each year.

Later registrations are also possible.

There are no school fees.
